This 2-hour video conference PD for DYCD-sponsored After-School Program staff will introduce you to architecture and design fundamentals.

This 2-hour video conference PD for DYCD-sponsored After-School Program staff will introduce you to architecture and design fundamentals and our Architecture At Home series of online, family-friendly STEAM activities to use and share with your 1st – 6th grade students. Topics will include how to draw buildings, how to “read” buildings for information about their design and history, architecture and design vocabulary, and simple hands-on design activities that kids can do at home.

This will be an interactive session where you will participate in group discussions and test out some of these online activities and share back with the group. Please use a computer, laptop or tablet with a built-in camera. Dialing in by phone is not recommended.

Materials required:

  • Computer with Internet connection

  • Pencil, crayons with paper peeled off, several sheets of paper
