DYCD Computer Science Cohort (CBO Organizational Track)
The Computer Science cohort will be managed by ExpandED Schools in partnership with LaGuardia Community College, DYCD and community-based afterschool/expanded learning providers. The cohort is designed with the purpose of strengthening and growing the supply of individuals prepared and qualified to work in afterschool and expanded learning providing CS enrichment opportunities to kids. CBO staff are invited into a Cohort to help prepare and build an understanding of sustained Technology Program successes. ExpandED intends to utilize the ‘STEM Afterschool, How to Design and Run Great STEM Programs and Activities guidebook. The guidebook was developed by ExpandED and Frontiers in Urban Science Education [FUSE] with support from DYCD to offer a framework and resources to help design a great program. In addition, ExpandED will work through a STEM Readiness profile; create action plans and when necessary collaborate with other DYCD TA providers who can assist in the preparation of CBOs.
