The shift from TABE 9 & 10 to TABE 11 & 12 raises many questions: What’s different about TABE 11 & 12 format and contents? How will it change the way the test is administered and scored? What literacy and numeracy skills do students need to be successful? What implications does this have for instruction?

This workshop will focus primarily on the new standardized procedures for administering and scoring the TABE 11 and 12 using the new TABE Directions and Scoring Guides. It will provide participants with a brief overview of the TABE 11 and 12, highlighting the differences in its format, contents, and guidelines for administration and scoring. Participants will become familiar with the types of questions asked on the test and the depth of knowledge required of the examinee to successfully respond to these questions. Lastly, they will be able to correlate the test results with the NRS Functional Levels and properly place students at the appropriate class levels.
