Meeting Sensory Needs
by
Thank you for your interest in attending a centralized Ramapo workshop, funded through the Department of Youth and Community Development. In order to register for this workshop, your program must receive funding through DYCD.
This workshop provides youth workers opportunities to understand what sensory needs are and how they might inform young people’s behavior. Participants will learn specific tools for meeting sensory needs in out of school time programs. Participants will practice facilitating relaxation exercises and movement breaks. They will also learn how to use routines and materials to help young people express emotions and self-regulate such as “retreat” spaces and visuals.
This professional development opportunity is provided at no cost to you but has a value of $750.00 for DYCD. If you register for and are subsequently unable to attend this session you are responsible for canceling your registration or risk being waitlisted for future events.
