Reflective Supervision and Leadership Development: Giving and Providing Feedback in Supervision

Reflective supervision is defined as a collaborative relationship between a supervisor and supervisee that builds on the understanding and use of thoughts, feelings, and values that lead towards professional growth. This is a useful approach when seeking to create an environment that is conducive to listening, nurturing, supporting, teaching, and coaching. This experiential workshop will introduce reflective supervision and demonstrate its value in cultivating leadership competencies.

In this online event, participants will leave the workshop with an:

1. Introduction to Reflective Supervision

2. Understanding of how to use Reflective Supervision as a frame for giving and receiving feedback

3. Expansion of skills that will assist in providing and receiving feedback

This a three-part online series – two days of online training, and the third day will be a follow-up online training call. You must attend all days of training.

Day One: Participants will review reflective practice; the components of reflective practice; and the processes of reflective practice.

Day Two: Participants will explore using the reflective lens in giving and receiving feedback and implementing reflective practice within their workplace. In this day of training, participants will be given an implementation activity to practice within their own team.

Day Three: Participants will explore and discuss the implementation activity – successes, challenges, and any other items related to the training. Strategies for moving forward in the future will be examined and discussed.
