Thank you for your interest in attending a centralized Ramapo workshop, funded through the Department of Youth and Community Development. In order to register for this workshop, your program must receive funding through DYCD.

his is a comprehensive professional development program designed for summer camp directors and supervisors. Over three workshops, participants will develop a framework to organize staff to effectively meet the needs of young people. After completing these three workshops, supervisors will be equipped with a core understanding of strategic supervision and a toolbox of skills and techniques to lead staff through managing challenging behavior.  The first session offers a framework for supervising new and inexperienced staff. The second session focuses on structuring summer camps for success. Expectations rooted in shared community values, while establishing rituals and routines that guide youth to positive behavior will be clearly identified. The third session helps directors plan for staff orientation and build in the necessary supports to prepare staff for a successful summer.

Programs that participate in this series will send a cohort of 2-3 staff members. Participating programs will also receive 1 day of on-site follow-up coaching to help support the implementation of action plans. Please come prepared with dates of availability.

Target Audience: Summer Camp Supervisors and Program Leadership

This professional development opportunity is provided at no cost to you but has a value of $2,250.00 for DYCD.  If you register for and are subsequently unable to attend this session you are responsible for canceling your registration or risk being waitlisted for future events.
