DYCD invests in building the capacity of nonprofit organizations to ensure that youth, families and community members receive high quality services. Capacity Building strives to strengthen organizations by investing in planning, leadership development and infrastructure. The unit also aims to enhance program quality by building front-line and supervisory staff knowledge and skills. We accomplish this by promoting learning and continuous improvement by developing practitioner learning communities and supporting the adoption of data-driven decision-making practices. We do all this to ensure that youth, families, and communities receive the best possible care through non-profit programs.
Capacity Building and Professional Development, which is in the Planning, Program Integration and Evaluation bureau (PPIE), collaborates with DYCD staff, practitioners, researchers and other content experts to develop relevant training and consulting services to support contracted community-based organizations
