Mentoring in Medicine, Inc. (MIM) is a continuity program serving students from third grade to career that promotes academic, social and emotional learning . The mission of MIM is to engage, educate and empower students around health and science careers in addition to promoting healthy living. Students learn integrated science, technology, engineering and math concepts through the lens of the structure, function and diseases of the human body in a curriculum filled with hands-on activities. Field trips, biomedical professional class visits, service learning projects, community service (as health and science ambassadors) and save a life techniques are also featured. Students also learn college readiness, study strategies and communication skills. MIM instructors are pre-health or graduate students who are serving as MIM Teaching Fellows. MIM hosts push-in or stand-alone year round programs available seven days a week.
